Your Media Library
The HdM is one of the biggest technical universities for media science in Europe. It has over 3500 students in 21 accredited bachelor and master degree courses covering the manifold aspects of media professions. These students are supervised by 120 professors, supported by numerous lecturers and supporting staff.
The library is divided between two locations, one branch can be found on the campus of Stuttgart University in the Nobelstrasse in Vaihingen, the other branch is situated in the Wolframstrasse in Stuttgart`s city centre. The branch in the Nobelstrasse is fully accessible to disabled readers.
The library of the HdM focusses on acquiring both print and digital information and making it available to the academic community of the university. It provides access to a wide range of resources, from children's audiocassettes to books on the newest developments in social media or customer relationship management and world-wide information portals. All types of media resources are available, from e-books, e-journals, CD-ROMS and online databases to traditional print media.
Good modern libraries are successful in integrating both traditional print media and the whole spectrum of new e-resources. The HdM library is in this respect no exception. It provides access to world-wide information sources through specialist portals and a wide choice of online catalogues. The media and information competence of our library users is supported by consulting and in-house training. Our range of services is constantly being tailored to our user's specific needs.
