If only success in business were that easy to achieve. On 14 and 15 October 2010, 32 students from Stuttgart Media University (HdM) found out that management is much more complex. In the German preliminary round of the management simulation contest ebmc, they were given the task of getting
a copier manufacturer back on track.

The young company successors worked in six teams that developed and implemented very different strategies (Copy !T, Plug’n’Print, easyspread, CoStar, Clio Industries, Blue Step Copiers). In a turbulent trial period, some companies learned a highly valuable lesson: Choosing a price lower than production cost is not a sustainable decision.
