Program Overview:

The Media Computer Sciences program is principally concerned with the fundamentals of modern computer networks as well as with practical computer sciences and their applications within the area of classical and electronic media.

The core curriculum is focused on fundamentals of technical information, mathematics, natural sciences and business economics. Beyond that, the areas of classical and electronic media applications are also included. The main curriculum consists of an emphasis on various computer science technologies. This includes software technologies, network engineering, computer networks, mobile communications and media applications.

The primary goal of this program is to convey technological and impartial product expertise in the area of computer sciences. In the context of project work, solutions for typical challenges in the IT industry are developed. Hence, students also become acquainted with the social aspects of teamwork.

Graduates have excellent career opportunities within all areas of the information industry. The education program is designed to span all types of industries. Graduates are employed in the classical media industry (prepress), in multimedia agencies, in network enterprises, software houses or industrial businesses.

Following the undergraduate program, graduates may further enhance and broaden the scope of their studies by subsequently completing the Master’s program. Admission to the course of studies is restricted (numerus clausus). Prospective students may apply for a begin of undergraduate studies in either the winter or summer semester.
