For some it might be surprising to find
a course of packaging technology on a media oriented university, but
packaging is so much more than a simple brown box. Nowadays packaging
plays a vivid role as communication tool and therefore as media.
Packaging has to be designed, developed and printed. The production
of good and functional packaging needs creativity, constructive
thinking and abilities and economical sensitivity.
Packaging is very present in our daily life and is necessary to
serve the increasing needs and wants in a globalised economy and
society. In order to satisfy the customer, packs are unifying ideas
of marketing, design and advertising on the one hand and packaging
technology with its matter of chemistry, physics and machine technology
on the other hand.
