Introduction and Registration.
Content
In this Lab students can choose 4 out of the 6 following excercises:
- Processing and Analysis of a voice sample (Matlab)
- Transmission of G.711 coded voice over wireless channel (Simulink)
- Planning of a WiMAX Wireless Metropolitan Area Network (WiPLAN)
- Modelling and simulation of a simple control circuit for an hybrid engine (ASCET)
- Pattern Recognition with Neuronal Networks (Python)
- Optimisation using Genetic Algorithms (MATLAB)
The main goal of this course is to provide
- general insight in the process of modelling, simulation, evaluation and analysis
- deep insight in some important Artificial Intelligence algorithms
- basic procedures in speech coding
- basics in the use of some widespread modelling- and simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink
- deep insight in the behaviour and characteristics of the systems that are simulated
At registration the students have to agree upon 4 out of the 6 offered experiments. After that students (or groups of students) have to select one out of the four exercise subjects. For the selected subject the student have to prepare a presentation (about 90 minutes). The presentations shall serve as introduction for all students in the course. After the four presentations the excercises will be carried out in group work.
