WILLKOMMEN AN DER Hochschule der Medien!

Do you want to learn all there is to know about the world of media and have a great international experience? Perfect, you’re in the right place - welcome to Hochschule der Medien (Stuttgart Media University)! About 5,500 students are enrolled with us, and you could soon be one of them. At Hochschule der Medien (HdM), we combine lectures with hands-on projects, and enable our students to become true team players and solve practical challenges together. Along with modern lecture halls, we offer state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, such as our own TV and radio studios, printing machines, and media labs, so you can truly dive into the world of media.

HdM has partnerships with more than 120 universities worldwide, offers international degrees, and runs several ERASMUS+ strategic partnerships with universities from both inside and outside of the EU. Our exchange students are able to choose from a variety of English-taught Minor Programmes with well-established courses. Please check them all out - we’re sure you’ll find a great match to your field of study within our course catalogue. If you already have German language skills, you can also choose courses and modules from our regular degree programmes. When you get here, our Buddies will make sure you feel at home in no time. We will also provide you with housing options for your stay.

Studying at HdM means studying in Stuttgart - which is a great choice, if you ask us! Stuttgart is a very lively city and hosts a big range of festivals, especially during the summer. Twice a year, during spring time and in the fall, the city bursts with Oktoberfest feeling. “Canstatter Wasen”, Stuttgart’s very own version of the world-famous beer festival in Munich, is almost as big and popular both with locals and with international crowds. Stuttgart's location in the valley of the Neckar river, surrounded by vineyards, also allows for a big wine festival, of course. And in the winter time, Stuttgart Christmas Market invites you for a mug of mulled wine and some local foods and treats. ESN Stuttgart, our Exchange Students' Network, organises various events and activities throughout the semester, beginning during the the orientation days!

Being a major hub in Germany, the city offers a lot of leisure activities as well as fantastic restaurants and bars along with many shopping opportunities. Its proximity to the Black Forest, Swabian Alb and Lake Constance offer an attractive range of outdoor leisure activities, as well, both in summer and in winter. Thanks to its closeness to cities such as Heidelberg and Munich as well as to France and Switzerland, Stuttgart invites for explorations both of Germany and of Europe and thus calls for a truly international experience. But who knows, maybe you won’t even want to leave Stuttgart ever again?

Let's create #HDMemories together!
