Language Centre
The HdM Language Centre opens the doors for everyone who wants to learn or improve their skills in a foreign language. Its extensive language program aims at all HdM and international students and offers the opportunity to acquire additional qualifications.
Foreign languages Courses
The Language Centre offers courses in the following languages every semester: Chinese, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Swedish, Spanish and German sign language.
German as a foreign language
The Language Centre offers German semester courses for international students every semester.
VESPA Courses
Additional language courses are offered within the Language Association Programme VESPA. These courses are reciprocally recognized by the four participating universities in the Stuttgart Region.
Placement Tests
If you would like to participate in a language course above level A1.2 and have not participated in a prior course, you will have to provide evidence of your language skills, by carrying out a placement test for the following languages: German, English, French, Spanish.
International Tests
& language certificates
We offer internationally acknowledged language tests in English, Spanish and French. They provide proof of the language competency, thus are of basic importance when applying for study programs and scholarships abroad.
Online Language Learning
With the language learning software Speexx you can learn different languages online for free. Our tandem program gives you the opportunity to communicate with a native speaker.
