VIRTUAL REALITY AT OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY IN THE USA

PROGRAM DATES:

23. September to 5. October (block week at HdM, pending)

Students are welcome to arrive weeks earlier, providing time for independant travel and sightseeing in one of the most beautiful parts of the USA (at your own expense).

PROGRAM DETAILS:

This program is led in collaboration with HdM's partner institution, Oregon State University. Students from both institutions will meet together in Corvallis, Oregon to develop projects around the theme: "Use VR to Experience How Robots Interpret the World".

The program encourages students across different disciplines to apply, particularly: Informationsdesign, Online-Medien-Management, and Wirtschaftsinformatik und digitale Medien, who engage with: Conception of VR applications, User Experience and User Interfaces in VR, Game Design, 3D Modeling, Scripting of User Interactions in VR.

HdM Participants will earn 5 ECTS from OSU and 10 ECTS from HdM

Dates:

26 September to 4 October 2019: Combined Workshops with the OSU Student Team at OSU

7 October 2019: Semester start at HdM

During the Semester: Virtual collaboration and meetings between HdM and OSU Student Teams

30. January 2020: Final presentations at HdM Media Night

End of June, Early July 2020: OSU Students visit HdM, participate in lectures, collaborative learning, and attend HdM Media Night.

(PROJECTED) COSTS:

Program Fee: HdM Students are exempt from program fees.

Housing: Approximately 30€/night. On-campus housing is pre-reserved for students, but students are expected to cover costs by their own means.

Flights, Food, and other personal travel are not covered by the program, unless otherwise stated.

US VISA: Approximately $14 (USD). You will be required to apply and obtain an ESTA Visa for entry into the USA. Students are required to manage and finance this process on their own.
