Since finding accommodation in Stuttgart can prove quite difficult, we strongly advise to apply for student housing. The Studierendenwerk Stuttgart owns and maintains several student dorms in Stuttgart, and our exchange students will usually be located at the Filderbahnplatz in Stuttgart-Möhringen.
How to apply
Due to upcoming refurbishment work in some of the halls, we currently can not guarantee for a place in the halls for all students. Please therefore apply as soon as possible and by the given deadline here. The Studierendenwerk Stuttgart hope to allocate rooms for the majority of the students, but have very strict processes and deadlines all Stuttgart universities have to follow. HdM does not own any halls of residence, and we therefore are part of this city-wide accommodation network.
With your other application information, you will receive a short and handy accommodation application manual from the HdM Exchanges Team. Please make sure you select the following options when filling out the online form:
Confirming your application
After you have submitted your application to The Studierendenwerk Stuttgart and it has been processed, you will receive an email with a link you need to click on in order to confirm your application. Please do so immediately! The link is active only for some days. After that your accommodation application becomes void. The accommodation waiting list is long, and you therefore need to complete all the steps of the process as instructed and as soon as possible.
The Studienrendenwerk Stuttgart will allocate rooms and email tenancy agreements to all students around 1 1/2 months prior to the arrivals period. Please therefore do not worry, if you do not hear from them before that. If you submit your application by the given deadline and confirm your application as described above, you will receive your contract well before the semester begin.
