Virtual DRUPA

Drupa is something like the "Olympic Games" for printers. It takes place every four years. Originally planned for June 2020, it has been postponed to 2021 and, in view of the Corona situation, has now been completely virtualised. The next Drupa will then not take place until 2024.

The virtual Drupa will run from 20 to 23 April 2021.It has  three areas "Conference Area", "Exhibition Space" and "Networking Plaza". The HdM is prominently represented virtually. First as an exhibitor in the "Exhibition Space (https://virtual.drupa.de/vis/v1/de/exhibitors/drupa2020.2680308?oid=45813&lang=1),  with matchmaking on the "Networking Plaza" and twice more in the so-called "Conference Area" on Wednesday 21.4. on a symposium from 15:10 to 17:10 (details here: https://www.ic-iarigai-drupa2021.org/) and on Thursday 22.4. from 12:30 to 13:10 on the topics "World Print Campus", "Young talents" and "Print Your Future" (PYF).

In the PYF project, the HdM is working together with the print umbrella organisation intergraf on topics concerning the employment of young people in our industry:. https://printyourfuture.eu/project/

At the presence Drupa, the Print Media Technologies course would have been in charge of organising the approx. 200m² "World Print Campus" stand, where, together with partner universities, the possibilities of academic education in the field of print and media and contributions to the main themes of Drupa, such as "Fascination Print", "Functional Printing" or "3D Printing", would have been presented. The top highlight was a giant poster measuring 24 by 6m. For this, a project group together with the professional photographer W.P. Steinheisser had already carried out an elaborate photo shoot at the end of 2019.
