Apply for a study place in March 2019
Applying to a university can seem very daunting. There’s so much to do! But really, getting your application in is just a series of stages: compile your documents, receive recognition, write the applications, and then play the waiting game. Then come the final decisions. Don't worry it's just a process. The actual application process is self-explanatory and straight forward.
EU Residents / EEA Residents / Holders of a German HZB*/Schengen VISA Holders
The next application period starts on 22 November 2018 for the March 2019 admission.
Your application consists of seven steps:
Step 1: Compile your documents (see Application Guide)
Step 2: Apply for recognition of credentials (Studienkolleg Konsatnz)**
Step 3: Decision from Studienkolleg Konstanz
Step 4: Book Accommodation
Step 5: Register and apply with hochschulstart.de (15 November - 15 January)
Step 6: Enrol with university
Step 7: Make travel arrangements
NON-EU Residents / No Visa Holders
The application period for the March 2019 admission has expired on 31 October 2018.
The next application period starts on 15 July 2019 for the March 2020 admission.

Step 4: Schedule appointment at German Embassy
Step 5: Decision from Studienkolleg Konstanz
Step 6: Upload your documents and apply for study place (1 July – 31 October)
Step 7: Book Accommodation
Step 8: Accept study place
Step 9: Enrol with university
Step 10: Apply for VISA
Step 11: Pay your tuition fees
Step 12: Make travel arrangements
*HZB = Hochschulzugangsberechtigung / University Entrance certificate / eligibility for a university study
** EU citizen which have received their University Entrance Certifiacte that is equivalent to a German HZB are admissable.
German citizens holding a non German University Entrance Certificate need to receive recognition by Regierungspräsidium BW.
