| Beschreibung: | Japanase visual media include manga, anime and computer games and are a world-wide phenomenon. Once considered "too Japanese" to have appeal beyond its home market, it is now co-produced by domestic and international media companies, and some of the latest anime series are simultaneously(!) released on Japanese TV and international streaming sites. This seminar covers the historical development of the media types, the current trends and topics as well as market mechanisms and the surrounding fan culture. It will also focus on the interaction between the different media types and the ever increasing defferentiation of genres. |
