Bemerkung zur Veranstaltung: Englisch
Beschreibung: The course will touch on several different aspects of 3D printing and additive manufacturing. Students will gain a thorough and detailed understanding of the principles and techniques of additive manufacturing and 3D printing, the science and mathematical theory which underpins this, and the ability to apply this to your individual project.
Students will learn about the many technologies available for 3-D- printing. They will also gain knowledge needed for evaluating 3D technologies as possible business investments. The course also teaches students design and engineering aspects of product development. During the semester, students work in teams to develop an idea into a product while learning about the additive manufacturing process.
    Over the semester students will be exposed to:
    Different technologies of additive manufacturing;
    Application of additive manufacturing;
    Types of filament and materials;
    Preparing files for three-dimensional printing;
    Working with appropriate software used in additive manufacturing;
    Different workflow environments.
