In order to achieve good effects in audiovisual communication, technological knowledge and expertise is needed. The creative side of the process requires conceptual thinking and thorough planning to arrive at any functionally and aesthetically effective design.

My valued colleagues take care of the ever evolving technological issues. I work in close connection with them to understand, connect and apply new technology with according design options. Coming from an artistic background with practical experience in graphic design for video and television productions, it is my task to introduce students to classic design principles which lay the ground for any application within the field of visual communication, and to help them with specific conceptual design solutions for their productions in television, video and film, cd-rom, internet and dvd.

Looking at design in a practical sense for me means to bring on optimal information flow, respecting the innate characteristics and requirements of the chosen medium and giving the production's content its fitting look and feel. The goal of my lectures thus is to help students to understand the tight connection between a media platform and its specific requirements and options for fine design, to help them expand their perception of art and design and to generally support their audiovisual productions, design-wise.
