In the first two semesters (year 1) provide an introduction to the different aspects of social media marketing and management. You will gain a common core of knowledge in business, media production, law, and AI, which will subsequently be extended. Assessment is mainly throught formal written exams that take place at the end of each semester. Depending on your native language you will also take a language course, either in German or English.
In semester 3 and 4 (year 2) we will go into more detail and focus on the specifics of social media marketing and management aspects. This will also include hands-on experiences as you will not only be responsible for the social media newsroom of our study program but also do a research project related to social media marketing. Assessment is mainly a combination of formal written exams and project work.
The fifth semester (internship) you will spend in a company and use your skills and knowledge in the real world. You can choose a company you like and gain hands-on experiences. This will help you decide what kind of projects you want to do in the next two semesters, and what topic you want to write your bachelor’s thesis about.
In the sixth and seventh semesters , you will work on cool projects (compulsory elective modules). You can choose from a huge selection of projects that changes every semester. Most of the projects are with external partners, like companies or social institutions. You will work together with students from other bachelor degree programs, so you can learn from each other. You can do projects in German or English, or both. Assessment is mainly based on the project work you submit.
