LIS International Summer School 2016
Designing the Future of Libraries, Learning and Information

Stuttgart Media University is pleased to announce the 2016 LIS Summer School which will be held at the Stuttgart Media University, Germany, on 19 - 24 September 2016.
We invite students of library and information science (LIS) and related fields to participate. The Summer School comprises six seminars focusing the topic "Designing the Future of Libraries, Learning and Information" and will be held at the Department of Library and Information Management.
The summer school aims to:
- explore the opportunities and challenges of the changes in the field of library and information sciences
- discuss different approaches to the future of libraries and information management
The Summer School will offer:
Six seminars on various topics with experienced lecturers as well as opportunities to discuss and develop own perspectives. The topics are:
19 - 21 September 2016
Seminar 1: Learning Spaces: Ways to Support Learning
Seminar 2: Library Linked Data
Seminar 3: E-Books: Markets, Libraries and Users
22 - 24 September 2016
Seminar 4: Developing New Library Applications
Seminar 5: A Toolbox for the Future: New Strategies and Methods of Evaluating Library Services
Seminar 6: Challenges for Music Information Services
Join us and work in collaboration with other students in an international setting. There are two seminar slots (19 - 21 September 2016 / 22 - 24 September 2016), so it is possible to attend two seminars during the summer school week.
For the attendance of one seminar and upon examination, 4 ECTS credits are appointed.

Fees
There is a tuition fee of 90 € per seminar; for students from partner universities of 50 € per seminar. The participants must cover their travel costs and their accommodation costs.
