Beschreibung: Course Description:
Digital transformation involves more than adopting new technologies. It is a strategic process through which companies change their business models, processes, capabilities, and market position to create sustainable value. The course introduces the foundations and drivers of digital transformation, examines why transformation initiatives succeed or fail, and explores the five strategic domains of customers, competition, data, innovation, and value. Students apply relevant concepts and frameworks to real-world cases and develop actionable recommendations for managing digital transformation.

Learning Objectives:
Upon successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
    1. Understand what digital transformation means.
    2. Explain how technology, customer expectations, and changing competitive environments drive digital transformation.
    3. Analyze business-model transformation using different frameworks.
    4. Evaluate challenges and common reasons why digital transformation initiatives fail.
    5. Develop a digital transformation strategy, including recommendations and an implementation roadmap.
English Title: Digital Transformation
English Abstract: The module Strategic Management comprises two complementary courses. In Digital Transformation, students examine how digital technologies, changing customer expectations, and new competitive dynamics reshape companies, business models, and industries. Through real-world case analyses, students evaluate transformation challenges and develop an evidence-based digital transformation strategy and implementation roadmap for a selected company.
