University Entry Qualification.
If you want to apply to Hochschule der Medien, you need a University Entry Qualification.
By the time of your application, you should already hold your University Entry Qualification including the overall grade.
If you have obtained your University Entry Qualification in a country outside of Germany, you will need to have this qualification recognised in Germany.
If you are a German citizen and have obtained your University Entry Qualification in a different Federal State or in country other than Germany or at an international school, you will need to have your certificate recognised by the Regierungspräsidium in Stuttgart. You can find out more about this process here.
You can also gain entry to Stuttgart University through vocational qualifications, for example a Meister or Fachwirt certificate. If you want to apply to Hochschule der Medien with one of these qualifications, please contact the Studienberatung.
Study & Orientation Questionnaire
In the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg, you are required to complete an online orientation test before you apply to a higher education institution. These tests ask you about your skills, interests and career goals and aim to give you some guidance in choosing your degree course. You have to print out the participation receipt at the end of the test and include this in your application.
Work Experiences
If you want to apply for the course Public Relations/Crossmedia you are required to complete a 6-week placement prior to starting your course. You can find out more about the placements and the specifications here.
Applying for a second degree
If you have already obtained a Bachelor’s degree at a German institution, the admissions process is slightly different.
You have to submit a copy of your degree certificate and a signed letter, outlining your motivation and reasons to study for a second undergraduate degree. You can only apply for one course.
2% of places on each degree course are allocated to people applying for a second degree.
Places are allocated according to a points system in which each application obtains points according to the grade of the first degree and for the motivation outlined in your letter. More information about the allocation of places can be found here.
If you want to study for a second undergraduate degree, you are required to pay tuition fees. You can find out more here.
