Revenue Models of European Companies in Media and Internet Industry

In recent years, business and revenue models in the media industry have constantly been changing. This is mostly driven by the ongoing digitalization of the media, the penetration of the internet and the fast growth of online applications that are available nowadays in almost all business sectors.

The objective of this article is to provide an overview of revenue models employed in European enterprises from the media and internet sector. In addition to the descriptive analysis, this article examines linkages between revenue models employed and the investors' assessments of the magnitudes of the commercial opportunities represented by opportunities to invest in media and internet sector businesses through an explorative analysis.
