Beschreibung: In this module you learn to develop and enhance editorial concepts for specific target groups. You get in touch with different useful tools in editorial strategy development and you are able to apply them to a concrete project. Moreover, you learn to define, manage, and lead innovation processes in organization like media companies. You learn to apply different research methods on editorial issues and to make editorial decisions based on empirical results. The module is part of the minor “Content Strategy” and is taught in English.
English Title: Innovation Management
English Abstract: The media environment has been changing for many years and will surely continue to do so in the future. This requires professionals to adapt to new technologies and new audience expectations by experimenting with content formats and inventing business models. In this module, we focus on the process of creating new and viable solutions. It is part of the Minor “Journalism and Communication Management” and taught in English.

Learning goals: You will develop and enhance innovative concepts for specific target groups from a user-centered perspective. You will get in touch with useful tools in strategy development and you will apply them to a particular project, e.g. design thinking. Moreover, you will learn to define and lead innovation processes in organizations like media companies applying agile management tools. You will also learn to apply different research methods on issues and to make decisions based on empirical results.

Methods/exam: You will have several smaller graded assignments during the course to prepare you for your big group project to develop an innovative solution to a specific problem. The module is part of the minor Journalism and Communication Management and is taught in English.
