English Title: Narrative Shaping and Visualisation
English Abstract: This course serves as an introduction to the dramatic conceptualisation of either a contemporary moving image series, or a dramatised public information film. It aims to enable students to identify dramatic structures and genres in both conventional and experimental audio-visual narrative. The course should also serve as preparation for the process of re-writes, and adapting/revising scripts for ongoing performance and production requirements. This process reflects the working reality of story-line and plot development, usually following the demands of plot-driven and character-driven production conventions. For this purpose, various examples are analyzed, and supplemented with practical exercises, so that students are given the chance to put theory into practice. Course credits are awarded for an exposé with a sample scene.
