Beschreibung: | The lecture for WS24/25 starts on its Kick-Off Event on October 10, 2024, 14:15 am. The lecture will be held in English, therefore fundamental communication skills in English will be required. This seminar aims to teach fundamental knowledge of creating visual assets in gaming worlds. Alongside character design and the graphic development of diverse gaming environments, we will look over different tools and other aspects of game art. Our focus extends to design fundamentals, including the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in graphic design for games. This lecture covers various aspects of design theory, and prior experience is not obligatory. Throughout the course, students will compile a portfolio that includes supervised work samples and project assignments. Part of the lecture will be exercises to develop and deepen practical skills, with hands-on projects serving to reinforce the concepts taught. An exciting component of this course is the integration of AI into game art. We will explore how AI can be employed in visual design, such as character and environment generation. This opens up thrilling possibilities for game development and the creation of distinctive visual elements. We will also discuss the chances and possibilities of such technologies. |
