If you are an international student being accepted to the "Advertising Minor" study track, you have a seat secured already. ------------------------------------- In this course students will be introduced to conceptual and technical principles for designing and creating digital screens. Lerning goals *Part 1: Conceptual design orientated approach* Understanding the conceptual basics of screen design. Screen design: past, present, future Interaction Usability Understanding the design process. Phases of a website project Creating a site map wireframe tools and stencils Making a page layout. Visual hierarchy Colors and color schemes Visual flow Grouping and alignment Visual look & feel guides *Part 2: Technical design oriented approach* Gain practical experience on how to to build a simple screen design from scratch using HTML (structure) & CSS (styling). HTML 5 CSS 3 Learn how to make a page layout. Floating Concept Introduction to frameworks Learn how to add text, images, video, social plug-ins. Learn how to add navigation & interaction to a screen. Navigational elements Interaction with JavaScript / jQuery Introduction to “Responsive Design”. Media Queries The lectures will be a mix of theoretical parts and many hands-on exercises. The course will be marked based on the realization of a screen design and the documentation that relates to it. The lectures and all materials will be mainly in english.
