Forschung

Jan Froehlich (born 1979 in Freiburg, Germany) is PhD-Student at the Promotionskolleg Digital Media, Stuttgart & Tübingen. His research interests are high dynamic range imaging, gamut mapping and color management. Before starting his PhD he was Technical Director at CinePostproduction GmbH. Since then, Froehlich has been involved in a number of technically groundbreaking film projects, most recently Europe's first animated stereoscopic feature film “Animals United.” Froehlich contributed to multiple research projects on new acquisition, production and archiving systems for digital television and cinema. He is member of IS&T, SMPTE, FKTG, and the German Society of Cinematographers (BVK).
