English Title: Leadership
English Abstract: Abstract: Content creation and media products are usually created and developed in teams including a variety of disciplines. Design, programming and promotion are often essential for publishing and distributing new content. Different goals and different styles of working may lead to conflicts which have to be resolved. This module looks at how teams work and what makes them creative and productive. It is part of the Minor “Journalism and Communication Management” and taught in English.

Learning goals: You will gain a deeper understanding of what leadership is, not only in day-to-day settings but also in difficult situations like changes or crises. You will take part in interactive classroom activities designed to develop your leadership capabilities and reflect on them from different cultural backgrounds. This will help you to identify and justify which approaches are most appropriate for your personality, the task to be completed and the organization you belong to. You will also be able to better develop personal and professional goals, recognize and criticize team dynamics, act with sound judgment and apply ethical decision-making techniques.

Methods/exam: Organised in international teams you work on and present a given theme to the class. In addition to that and based on a set of questions you reflect on this teamwork individually. Both team presentation and reflection paper make up for your grading.
