In this lecture will provide an overview about international, economic and political aspects of the media industry. One important issue is the socio-political and cultural environment for media companies. Another topic is an analysis of the management-oriented perspective of multinational companies.
The aim of the module is that students classified and analyzed international corporate structures. Special attention is cast on the similarities and differences of the European media landscape and the political media systems. From the comparison of media services in Europe the students should learn more about the product policy of multinational media conglomerates and cross-media. Students will learn to discuss and analyse the important issues in the media industry. The students are divided into project groups and each group will prepare and moderate one lecture and create a separate presentation in English. The classification and description of the exact requirements will be achieved in the first session. |
