Beschreibung: In times of 'Fridays for future' it seems the young generation – that's you – has become more political than generation X has ever thought of. Based on TED-talks we will discuss topics like 'Less stuff – more happiness', 'Who am I – think again?', 'Protecting Twitter users (sometimes from themselves)' or 'Image recognition that triggers augmented reality'. There will be room for your ideas, interests and demands. Essay writing and presentation skills will be covered as well as the art of controversal discussions. You will receive feedback on their use of language, including vocabulary, grammar and style.
Throughout the course you will explore and record your own development by writing personal reflection pieces. You will work in groups on a certain topic and a related case study. By the end of the course each group will produce a podcast or delivers a presentation on its case. The final exam will consist in an essay to be written in class.
