Beschreibung: This course takes a pragmatic approach on contemporary Intercultural Communication models from the perspective of our dynamic digital network-society. We’ll first raise awareness of the continuous change process in any today’s professional environments which demands a general openness towards change and diversity. Against that background we’ll look at Intercultural Communication as one factor of diversity management in professional environments. We may summarise that we’ll discuss the dynamics of intercultural communication from the perspective of an agent of change (4-Room-Concept, Kotter, Approval-Trust etc.).

During the first two thirds of this course we’ll reflect contemporary change and diversity management by linking it to concepts of cultural categories, communication schemes, personality models, mentally shared team-concepts and the stages of change leading. The both complex and liquid concepts will give participants a useful toolbox in order to be able in future to achieve a successful professional goal setting and work flow in a diverse professional environment. At the end of the course we’ll have an intense workshop for two days where participants gain hands-on experience and apply the learned tools in a People management simulation scenario (Topsim/TATA interactive system).
