At Hochschule der Median, academic integrity is expected of every student in all endeavours.
The course Academic work teaches students to adhere to academic integrity that includes a commitment to the values of honesty, trustworthiness, fairness, and respect. These values are essential to the overall success of an academic society.
In addition, students will learn about the use of sources that involves referencing and developing a bibliography.

While students will learn how to quote from, paraphrase, and cite sources correctly, the ability to apply that information in all writing situations is an advanced literacy skill acquired over time through repeated practice.

Students will:
  • understand the task of academic writing;
  • structure their essay or report;
  • make their writing flow;
  • use sources in their writing;
  • will reference and cite correctly therefore avoiding plagiarism
  • write in an appropriate academic style;
  • learn the features of good writing;
  • focus on specific aspects of writing.
