Beschreibung: The obligatory minimum of the theoretical part includes studying the initial mathematical concept like sets, binary relations, formal logic and algebraic foundations of measurement as a cognitive process; features of measurement on quantitative and qualitative scales; formal models for measurands and procedures; and ways of mathematical description and estimation of measurement errors.

English Abstract: Part 1: Lectures

Metrology is the science of measurement, embracing both experimental and theoretical determinations at any level of uncertainty in any field of science and technology. It establishes a common understanding of units, crucial in linking human activities and is an important discipline in quality control processes employed in printing.

In the lecture part students will learn about to process of measuring, basic statistics and the calculation of error.

In the lab they will be confronted with a number of tasks. Properties of substrates, plates and products will be determined and established.

Students will learn the ability to discriminate and judge printed material in terms of material parameters and colorimetry.
