Beschreibung: This lecture revolves around three assignments, each strategically designed to guide you through the process of creating and reporting on the artifact you design and research using the Research through Design approach.

Systematic Literature Review: Conduct a thorough and systematic review of existing literature relevant to your chosen artifact.

Early Artifact Description: Provide an initial description of your artifact at an early stage, outlining its key features and design concepts.

Scientific Methods and Evaluation Strategy: Define and articulate the scientific methods employed in your research, along with a clear strategy for evaluating the effectiveness of your artifact.

Artifact Description/Report: Present a comprehensive description and report on your artifact, detailing its design principles, development process, and any findings or insights gained.

Publication: Compile and submit your research findings in a publication-ready format, ensuring that your work contributes meaningfully to the field."

English Abstract: The present time is characterized by multifaceted challenges in the areas of education, healthcare, mobility, and environmental protection, and the demand for innovative solutions has never been greater. Solving current complex societal issues requires new approaches. A shift towards human-centered design in scientific research is crucial to explore new paths that can effectively address these challenges.

The use of Research through Design (RtD) as a structured scientific framework can enable the implementation of groundbreaking research projects. We aim to promote innovation and excellence in addressing the challenges currently facing society. RtD offers a unique approach that encourages a blend of theoretical exploration and practical implementation, allowing early career researchers to effectively investigate the complexities of our societal challenges through the examination of artifacts or digital interventions.

Through this approach, we seek to bridge the gap between theory and practice and foster a community of researchers dedicated to creating effective solutions in the field of design research. By emphasizing a human-centered approach and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, we envision a future where RtD becomes a driving force in addressing some of the most pressing problems in our society today.
