Open Film Tools
The Open Film Tools project is a project for design, implementation and evaluation of standardized methods, to serve as a basis for gathering colorimetrical properties of cameras, lights and objects in order to have correct color reproduction in movies.
Currently the focus is on:
- Implementation of a method for colorimetrical camera characterization and providing a service in order to create color profiles for movie cameras online
- Measurement of cinematographic light sources
The project started at the end of 2013 at HdM and is funded by the research program "Karl-Steinbuch-Forschungsprogramm" of MFG foundation ("MFG Stiftung der Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg").
