Beschreibung: This practical training is taught in English and is very similar to the German pendant Grundlagenpraktikum PrePresPressPostPress (5P) (see https://www.hdm-stuttgart.de/~huebner/5P/5P.htm.
The practical training is organised as follows:
All participants meet at the first "kick-off" meeting. Basic topics, rules for the lab and the organisation of the training are discussed. A safety instruction takes place.
The students are divided into groups and each group goes through the technical departments along the production process of a print product (examples: book, calendar, flexible packaging, etc.). There will be about 12 appointments of 6 hours each (so a total of kickoff +11 appointments in the departments for each student).
The group division or the product to be produced can be chosen freely, but should be based on the interests of the participant and his/her course of study. In order to avoid too large group sizes, the group can also be assigned by us.
Attendance is compulsory!
The responsible persons from each department will certify attendance on a form. At the end of the lab, a report is submitted to the module supervisor. The module supervisor evaluates the training with the help of the laboratory supervisors according to attendance, commitment and the content/structure of the report. The student registers this course as usual in the registration period for the examination. Information and group assignments can be found in the moodle course 181850 Grundlagen Praktikum Prepress Press Postpressor at https://www.hdm-stuttgart.de/~huebner/5P/5P.htm.
The following technical departments are currently involved in the training course:
- Integrated Production and Computer to Plate
- Rotogravure form preparation
- Digital printing
