English Title: | Packaging Logistics |
English Abstract: |
The packaging is the link between the product and the various logistical processes in the Supply Chain (transport, handling, warehousing, identifying). The packaging has to meet a number of requirements which might even be in conflict to each other: e.g. it needs to be robust and stable even under moisture conditions on the one hand, and needs to be appealing and deliver an unique unboxing experience to the customer at the same time; it needs to be flexible for the dimensions and shapes of the product and at the same time support the efficient and quick loading of transport units with a minimum waste of space. The packaging engineer needs to be aware of the possible challenges which his/her product will face on its journey from the factory to the final customer and develop an appropriate packaging system meeting Quality, Costs, Service and Sustainability requirements optimally. |
