Requirements for obtaining ECTS credits and language course certificate:
The final grade is based on a range of tasks and assignments (KMP) to be achieved over the entire duration of the course
  • Course participation and self-study = 20%
  • Participation in panel group and seminar discussion = 30%
  • Final exam (lightining talk)=50%


  • Please note:
    Regular attendance is mandatory and will be assessed: 85% of the course is to be completed in presence, this also applies to online - distance teaching formats, via videoconference. Make sure that you do not miss more than two classes (4 SWS in total) in order to successfully pass the course.
    The written final exam normally takes place on the last day of the course. In order to pass the final, you have to achieve at least 60 percent in total.

  • The result of the Oxford Placement Test (OOPT) with a score ranging between 80-99 points OR
  • A certificate from a previously completed B2+, or B2.2, or C1 course at the HdM Language Centre or at a partner university

    Bemerkung zur Veranstaltung: Zielniveau: C 2
    Beschreibung: Expert English C1 is an advanced English course focused on enhancing your listening and speaking skills. Drawing on real-world topics, you'll practice a range of skills from taking notes during presentations to taking part in interviews. During the course, key expressions for giving presentations and taking part in discussions will be introduced and practiced and feedback will be given on use of language, including grammar, pronunciation and style. By the end of the course, you will be better able to understand complex spoken English and express yourself in diverse professional and academic settings.
